1
You will be met by your guide at your hotel for a short briefing about your 5-day safari. Then, embark on a 4-5 hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy an en-route lunch in Masindi or Kabalega. Upon entering the park, visit the top of the falls where the Nile’s beauty is on full display as it compresses from 50 meters to squeeze through a 6-meter canyon, dropping 40 meters with a thunderous roar. Proceed with a game drive en route to your lodge for overnight.
2
After breakfast, cross the ferry to the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park for an early morning game drive. The Paraa area is rich in wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, several antelope species, and more. In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise to the base of the falls, a highlight of the park. Expect to see many buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, and a variety of birds as you cruise upstream to the falls.
3
Depart early from the lodge with a picnic lunch and transfer to catch the morning boat at the jetty. During the cruise, spot herds of buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, giraffes, elephants, and various bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive before returning to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
4
After an early breakfast, transfer to the ferry crossing point and proceed to Budongo Forest for chimp tracking. After a briefing, an experienced ranger will lead you through the forest. Once the chimpanzees are located, spend up to one hour with them. Afterward, return to the lodge for lunch, then transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
5
After breakfast, track both white and black rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Rhinos were poached to extinction in Uganda during the 1970s, but efforts are underway to restore them. After tracking, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
Permits: Chimpanzee tracking permits.
