Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at the airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hilton Garden Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara

After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, meet your driver guide and drive across the floor of the Great Rift Valley to Masai Mara National Reserve via Narok. The journey covers approximately 270 km and takes about 5-6 hours. Arrive in time for lunch. This world-famous reserve is known for its high concentration of plains game and predators. After lunch, embark on a late afternoon game drive.

Day 3: Masai Mara Full Day

Begin your day with an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, spend the full day in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents. The Masai Mara plains are filled with wildebeest during the migration season from early July to late September. You may also see zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, Thomson’s gazelle, leopards, lions, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, bat-eared foxes, hippos in the Mara River, and large Nile crocodiles.

Day 4: Transfer to Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a game drive en route, searching for any missed animals. Later, embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru, passing through Narok with an en route lunch. The journey covers approximately 200 km and takes about 5-6 hours. Arrive with a game drive proceeding to your lodge for check-in.

Day 5: Full Day Nakuru National Park

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast, and head out for an early morning game drive to explore more of the park’s beauty. Spot lions, leopards, hyenas, and different antelope species. In the afternoon, drive to Lake Nakuru to enjoy the views of flamingos and other bird species. Explore the park’s wildlife, including black and white rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and zebras. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Nakuru – Jinja Town (Uganda)

After an early breakfast, check out of the camp and park and drive to cross over to Uganda via Busia border. The journey covers approximately 440 km and takes about 8-9 hours. Proceed to Jinja, the source of the Nile and Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight stay at Jinja Nile Resort

Day 7: Visit the Source of the Nile – Kampala City

After breakfast, meet your driver for a half-day rafting activity. Return for lunch, then visit the source of the Nile. Later, drive for about 3 hours to Kampala, covering approximately 85 km, arriving in the late evening.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, drive to Kibale National Park. En route, visit the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru stalagmites and waterfalls site in Fort Portal and the crater lakes. The journey covers approximately 320 km and takes about 6-7 hours. Have lunch and proceed to Kibale, arriving in the late afternoon.

Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking – Kibale Forest

Take early morning breakfast and go for a briefing before starting chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best destinations for chimpanzee tracking. After trekking, have lunch and visit Bigodi Wetland for bird life and unspoiled nature. Later, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, covering approximately 160 km and taking about 3-4 hours.

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy breakfast and go for a morning game drive through the Kasenyi area, encountering elephants, buffaloes, elands, bushbucks, topis, and warthogs. Visit Katwe salt pans to witness salt mining and return to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise down the Kazinga Channel for more game viewing.

Day 11: Ishasha Sector, Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning, transfer to the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions. These lions can often be seen lounging in the fig trees, a behavior thought to help them escape the heat and avoid insects on the ground. In addition to the lions, the Ishasha sector is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, keeping an eye out for these elusive lions perched high in the trees.

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Make a morning tour of the Ishasha sector, hoping to see more lions and the elusive leopard. Then say goodbye to Queen Elizabeth and head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, arriving in the afternoon. The journey covers approximately 90 km and takes about 4 hours.

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, depart with your packed lunch and proceed to the park headquarters for briefing and then head into the forest for gorilla trekking. Trekking can take an hour or four depending on the gorillas’ movement. Spend the remaining time relaxing or exploring local communities. In the afternoon, you can also visit the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest life and culture. The Batwa were the original inhabitants of the forest and have fascinating stories and skills to share.

Day 14: Transfer to Kampala to Connect for Your Flight

After an early cup of coffee, embark on your journey back to Kampala. Stop at the equator for photos and lunch in Mbarara, arriving in the evening for your scheduled flight back home. The journey covers approximately 460 km and takes about 8-9 hours.
