This 6-day Uganda safari is a favourite for families and groups who want a complete wildlife experience without gorilla trekking. It covers three of Uganda’s top parks — Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, and Queen Elizabeth, plus a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Together, they offer the chance to see nearly all of Uganda’s big species, making this a Big Five safari route.
Each day brings something new: rhinos at Ziwa, elephants and lions in Murchison, chimpanzees in Kibale, and hippos on the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth. It’s a value-packed itinerary that can be tailored to mid-range or upgraded to luxury lodges, giving travellers the flexibility to match their style.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your Ikigai guide. Depending on your arrival, you may relax at your lodge or stroll along the shores of Lake Victoria.
Set off northwards, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot — the first tick in your Big Five adventure. Continue to Murchison Falls NP, Uganda’s largest park. In the afternoon, visit the top of the falls where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge — the spray on your skin and thunder in your ears make for a thrilling welcome.
At dawn, set out for a game drive across the Buligi sector. Watch for lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and Jackson’s hartebeest under the golden light. After lunch, take a boat safari along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Hippos grunt, crocodiles bask, and birdlife abounds. The cruise ends at the roaring falls — a dramatic spectacle of nature’s power.
Travel south through Uganda’s rolling hills and crater lakes en route to Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive at your lodge on the forest edge, surrounded by lush greenery and birdsong.
This morning, head into Kibale Forest for an exciting chimpanzee trek. The forest comes alive with pant-hoots and rustling branches as you watch chimps feed, play, and swing through the canopy.
After lunch, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with the Rwenzori Mountains looming in the distance. Enjoy a late-afternoon game drive on the Kasenyi Plains, where lions and antelope are often seen.
This morning, board a Kazinga Channel boat cruise, one of Uganda’s best wildlife spectacles. Hippos crowd the shallows, buffalo cool off in the water, and kingfishers flash by in bursts of colour. Afterwards, begin your journey back to Entebbe, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive in the evening for your international departure.
